Tom Merrifield was born in 1932 in Sydney, Australia. He trained as a classical dancer and was a successful professional ballet dancer for many years.

Tom has been hailed as a force of nature, he breaths an elemental beauty into all his creations and his celebration of life and movement brings a spark of joy to everyone's world.

Following a distinguished and rewarding career as a dancer, Tom left the stage and took up drawing and sculpting as a full time occupation, and has never looked back. He has sculpted many of the world's most famous dancers and has gained acclaim throughout the world.

Tom Merrifield is recognised as a major living artist and one of the finest sculptors of his generation, with his work currently being sold in cities including London, Paris, New York, Brussels and Monte Carlo.
